This book discusses methods and measures aimed at improving the environmental and energy efficiency of heat power plants and their main components, such as microcogeneration plants running on biofuels, low-emission burners for pulverized coal power boilers, vortex cooling systems for gas turbine blades, dry cooling towers for circulating water, and vortex heat exchange apparatuses with high thermohydraulic characteristics.
The general editing of the book was performed by Academician A.A. Khalatov of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He also contributed to the preparation of all chapters of the publication. Chapters 1 and 5 were prepared by PhD I.I. Borisov, Chapter 2 by PhD G.V. Kovalenko, Chapter 3 by PhDs T.V. Donyk and O.V. Shikhabutinova, and Chapter 4 by PhD S.G. Kobzar. The experiments described in Chapter 1 were conducted in collaboration with the Rotor-Sumy enterprise (General Director D.V. Pashchenko). Experimental results in Chapter 2 were obtained with the participation of junior researcher M.A. Mulyarchuk.
